I decided that I would like to be able to touch my level. I was generally thinking about how I could use what I had done with the game in life, and was thinking about all the GPS workshops and lectures I had been to. Printing the level seemed like a nice easy way of making what I'd done solid.

So for really no particular reason I set about producing a printable .stl file. I had to modify the level in order to make it suitable for the printer. All the floating blocks became towers connected to a base. There was no chance it would print in the cheaper older machine due to its extremely thin towers, as it was printing in the better quality (though more expensive) machine I had to take away the taller towers so that less support material would be used (as I only had £40 to spend).

In the end when I finally got the model my first thought was "its pathetically small", and I think that about sums it up. I think the game the positions come from force grand ideas into my head, both this and the previous Unreal Tournament project have concluded in large scale plans and while I think it was useful to print the model all it has done is re-enforce my thirst for "monumental" artworks.
